Activities
Research happens on farms, in the lab, at conferences and in communities. Explore the group's work in pictures.
Measuring morphometric traits on goats, sheep, chickens and donkeys, recording live weight, documenting comb, shank and plumage diversity of chickens, and collecting blood samples with veterinarians.
Collecting egg quality traits (egg weight, dimensions, shell thickness, yolk and albumen) and studying ovarian follicle morphology in our laboratory at F-Block.
The group assists farmers in and beyond Limpopo Province with animal breeding. We are invited by farmers, or proactively identify farmers in need, to discuss practical breeding methods that improve the quality and productivity of their livestock.
Poster and oral presentations at conferences, at the Faculty of Science and Agriculture Research Day (University of Limpopo), and at workshops.
Team-building and celebrations: the people behind the research.
